PAST WORK
When I started working on this body of work, I tried to interrupt learned habits of ‘beautiful’ composition styles, to resist the impulse toward coherence. Abstraction offered a way to create without reproducing the same systems of legibility. I layered scraps of found materials that held memory, scraping, covering, and returning. What remained visible is only partial. What disappeared is not gone. Erasure, in this sense, is not about loss but about what gets pushed back, what refuses to stabilize into something easily read and what other forms find presence.
